Introduction to Paediatric Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator

This introduction provides learners with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in paediatric Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) usage in emergency situations. Designed for those who have a specific interest or responsibility at work or in voluntary and community activities with children, to provide BLS when dealing with an emergency situation which may involve using an AED.

Over a 2 hour period, Learners will develop the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of First Aid situations and safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

- Managing an unresponsive child casualty
- CPR
- Using an AED.
